Practical Scrappers Challenge - border punches and/or scissors

I couldn't decide which one to enter, I like them both...however, I used my fancy scissors to cut out the roses, leaves and to trim the two paper ribbons on the first card.  The second card is trimmed all round and the paper ribbons are edged with the scissors...They were both fun to make and I was just feeling creative, I guess.
Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave a comment, love to hear from others and feel free to follow my blog, if you would like to.

Grandchildren

Recipes

This is a collection of my favourite recipes.  I used toilet paper rolls flattened, decorated with scraps of scrapbook papers, printed the recipes on cardstock front and back and cut them out to fit into the openings in the rolls.  There are recipes for appies, soups, salads, sauces, main dishes and desserts.  Each roll can hold a few recipe cards.  Each decorated roll has two eyelets and I used hemp to tie them all together into a book.

H2H challenge June 21, 2010

I made this card for the H2H challenge this week using tulip, buttercup and black and they are all Close To My Heart products.  This thank you will go to a very special lady that I just met.  Faithe spoke at our church on Friday night and her ministry is "Women Who Win".  She is from Arizona and the sister of a friend of mine from church.  Faithe  changes lives and is a kind, loving and giving lady.

Scrapbooking for real...layouts

I seem to be on a roll and have created another layout which I will post a picture of tomorrow.  This is exciting.  I would love to have all my thousands of pictures scrapped, but will be happy for now to get the ones I have printed on pages!  :)   Thanks for stopping by, and happy scrappin' everyone.

Just Cats

This is a layout of my daughter's three cats and my cat, Ee-Or.  Check out the cute little Pocket Mice that I won on Tiffany Doodles.  They are hand painted with a water brush and Close to My Heart Ink pads, double popped up and the paper is 'Felicity' from Close To My Heart.
Sandra and Ryan have a cattery, doggery and horse boarding.  When they opened, I cross-stitched a whole lot of cats, framed it and they hung it in the cattery for all their customers to see.  Their business is Whiskers and Woofers in Kelowna, BC.  If you need a great hotel for your dogs or cats to stay, email me at jojay@shaw.ca and I will give you more information.

Lavonya and Don Mitchell's Weddiing

I used Close To My Heart papers for this layout of my friend's wedding.  I picked up the blue in Don's shirt using Dutch Blue cardstock and the green in Lavonya's son's shirt with the green cardstock.  The B & T's are from Felicity and Cherry-O papers and I was able to use up some scraps.  The tourquoise flowers pick up the colour of Lisa's dress.

Father's Day Card

This week I have entered this card at the challenge on H2H to use scraps and make a Father's Day Card. I hand made each tie from scraps, popped up the one layer on cardstock, glued down a layer of ties on the base and added the hemp for a clothes(tie)line affect. What fun to make. Vote # 20 Thank You

Thank you everyone who voted for my train card.  I came in 18th out of 106...not bad!  I had fun doing this challenge.  Hope you enjoyed your visit here and come back again and again, whenever you get the urge!

Okanagan Events

This is the layout I have completed for the H2H challenge this week.  It is events in the Okanagan and I used all Close To My Heart products except the buttons and I made the medalions with alcohol inks over embossed aluminum tape.  That was a fun project.  I hope you enjoy seeing a part of Kelowna and area.  Thanks for stopping in.

Please Vote #20

Hi:  InLinkz voting has started...please scroll down on the right to number 20 and click on vote above the picture of my card...blue & green train.  Thanks for your support.

Yesterday was my son's birthday, so I made him a cupcake, the first one ever, at least using paper products.  The one on the right was his gift, with a money card inside instead of a gift card.  He loved it.
I got the idea from the Fantabulous Cricut blog through a video tutorial by Teresa Black.  Thanks Teresa, what a wonderful idea and as you can see, the cupcakes get more delicious as you make them...good enough to eat, almost!

Baby Card

The free swinging sign on the card says, "Special delivery".  I popped up the little ducks for some dimension.
Thanks for having a look.   I am entering this card in the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge at:

Heart2Heart Sketch Challenge - B-Day Card

Why is it such a challenge to get a really good picture?  Anyway, this is my entry for the Heart2Heart challenge this week, using their sketch.  It just happens to be my son's 28th birthday on Monday, so this was good timing to make something especially for him.  So, shhhhhh...don't tell him the picture is on my blog!
I used all Close to My Heart products.  I love CTMH...So, here is the list:
Cardstock:  White Daisy (base) and Colonial White for the cupcakes
B & T Paper:  Cherry-O Bulk Paper
Inkpads:  Goldrush, Garnet, Black, Sweet Leaf, Tulip and Chocolate
Acrylix Stamps:  Celebrate, Made with Love, Bowl of Cherries, A Little Everything, Piece of Cake
Create a Shade Pearl Paint
Liquid Glass
I burnt (sponged) the edges of the card inside and out using Goldrush, Garnet and Black inkpads
The cupcake icing is Pearl Paint
And I just love Liquid Glass on poka dots, so the B & T's are embellished with Liquid Glass dots
Tulip, Green Leaf and Chocolate for the Cherries
This was a fun card to make and I hope my son appreciates the time and love spent on it.
I hope you enjoy it too and will leave me a luv comment.  Thank you for stopping by.
Thanks H2H for all the great challenges.
